How to Make Pocket Fold Wedding Invitations
If you are planning to make pocket fold wedding invitations for your special event, then here is an article to help you make the square pocket fold.
Making pocket fold wedding invitations is relatively easy. First off, gather all the materials needed on making your wedding invitation. This includes a scissors, cardstocks, rotary cutters and scoring blade, exacto knife, embellishments and a tape.
If your materials are all set, it is time to start with your pocket fold wedding invitations. First, get the 11×17” cardstock and cut the pocket fold from it. Trace the remaining pocket folds using this template. If you want to create the L-shape, cut out a rectangular 3” x 8 5/8” portion of your cardstock. There are also available pocket fold templates online, which you can purchase, to make things easier.
The next step in making pocket fold wedding invitations is creating the outer pointed flap. What you need to do is to find the center of the outer flap first, then position the ruler and line the ruler up parallel to the right edge. This will form a diagonal line, which ends at around half-inch from top. Now, make the cut. Do this on the other side and make a center cut to the left side, around half-inch in the bottom.
For the inner pocket folder, do the opposite. You need to look for the inner pocket center and go below around 1/5”. Line the ruler up parallel to the right edge. This will form a diagonal cut. Now, do this for the other side. From the outer pointed flap, measure 2.5” below, this will be your first score. Your next score will use the inner pocket vertical line, which cuts the left side of the ruler. For the last score, use the inner pocket base. It should be horizontal at the base of the pocket.
Fold the lines for each of your scores. Make use of a bone folder tool if necessary. Finally, tape it all out. Make sure that all sides are rigid.
Finally, remove the red tapes of your double-sided tapes and fold the flap up. Now, you will see the inner pocket of your pocket fold wedding invitations !
